Safari - mp4 downloading as text.

It appears that the latest version of the Safari browser is struggling to download the Rocket Piano videos (mp4) and attaches a .txt extension to the downloaded file. To view these files you will need to remove the .txt file extension.




  • This can be done by opening the folder where you have downloaded those video files.

  • Select a video. One left click will allow you to rename the file.

  • Delete the .txt extension and hit the RETURN key.

  • You will be asked if you are sure you want to change the file type to mp4.

  • Select Yes. 


When you double click the renamed file, it should automatically open in Quicktime (the default player).
